Interior Design

My first version of the interior design was more sci-fi based but would have an post-apocalyptic feel to it, however, this version of the interior was scraped due to not getting that post apocalyptic feel into the level.

the level itself didnt have a post-apocalyptic feel to it on the first version of the level

due to my current skills with maya at this time it didnt help with the development of the level, this lead me to scrap this version and re-visit the interior at a later date.

After my third assignment was completed I had decided to revisit my interior design and making the first part of my interior, which was the walls. there was two versions of these walls; one with window space and the other wall without windows, these walls would be the first building blocks for the new interior and definitely looked the part when they had been textured and was given normal maps.
The main theme of this interior was to be more abandoned and underground rather than going for the same theme as the first version.

The generator that was created for the interior was an interesting design as the generator has no development behind it and the modeling and the textures were improvised. Even with that said the model fits in perfectly with the level that i had created, along with its rusted and run down textures. another interesting part was the wheel that would be constantly spining inside the generator. this model introduced me to Rigging, which is the way to have animations translated from maya into unreal. The animation for the generator was just a simple rotation animation but i wanted rig it in maya rather than use the matnee in unreal, my main reason was because it would be easier to duplicate and alter the animation when the model is in the game engine, whereas the matnee would take longer to sort out to have multiple versions of the generator around the level.

This asignment had got me into creating particle effects for my level. The particle effects that are in the interior was created by me and was my first time ever using the particle system
